Our hair is so important.  Many of us invest in skincare and yet we are happy to use lesser quality ingredients on our hair. I used to but not anymore. The more we can protect the integrity of our hair when it is healthy and strong, the more we are protecting it for the future.

Bumble and Bumble is a range that I used maybe 10 years ago and I recently came across it again in Cyprus.  It is a brand that represents heritage, quality ingredients and fashion forward products.  As a company they understand that hair trends change and so do the demands of our hair products.  What inspires me about this brand is that if a product does not exist to support today’s hair styles and beyond, they will create it.

They have created cult, iconic, award winning products like:

  • Brilliante – oil based styling cream which was their first ever product. If you have medium to thick hair which can  be difficult to style, you will love this product
  • Surf Spray – the original salt spray. It adds volume, texture and creates perfect, sexy beach look and hold whenever you want it.
  • Styling Crème – this is a top seller, part mousse, part cream which makes any style better
  • Sumo range – this takes hair wax to a whole new level. Brainchild of Laurent Philippon who is an amazing French Hair Stylist and now Global Artistic Director of Bumble and Bumble

Bumble and Bumble started as a salon in New York by Michael Gordon in 1977 and is now part of the Estee Lauder group.  Their products are cutting edge and forward thinking.

Their ethos is to be:

  • Amazing hairdressers
  • Learn & grow
  • Create editorial quality products
  • Revere authenticity and creativity in all forms.

Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil – Six feather light oils to help soften, silken, tame, de-frizz, detangle and to protect

I own a lot of products and I try a lot of products.  Generally speaking, most hair care ranges when we try a product, it is for a specific hair type or concern.  Bumble & Bumble re-write the rule book with their products.  What sets them apart is their quality and their versatility.

Oils have been used in the skincare industry for years; the reason for this is that they balance, protect and can hydrate the skin at a much deeper level.  The same is also true for our hair.

Through the use of oils, this range delivers the most amazing results to dry, damaged and/or colour treated hair – silky, soft and healthy hair.  This product line is for medium to thick hair of any texture and is sulphate free.

The range uses a blend of 6 oils; coconut oil, argan oil, macadamia nut oil, sweet almond oil, safflower seed oil and grapeseed oil.

Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Balm-to-Oil Pre-Shampoo Masque

This is a pre-shampoo masque which deeply nourishes and hydrates.  Use once a week, warm the balm in your hands and unlock the beautiful oils, saturate you hair and brush it through.  Leave it on for at least 20 minutes.  Then follow on with Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.

Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Shampoo

This is a moisturising shampoo.  You only need a small amount.  Many brands claim this but really you only need a small amount.  As I tend to only wash my hair twice per week, I will double cleanse.  If you wash your hair more often, you may find that once is enough.

Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Conditioner

This is a moisturising conditioner.  After cleansing with Hairdressers’ Invisible Oil Shampoo, follow on with the conditioner.  Apply root to tip and then brush gently through.  Leave on for one to three minutes and rinse.

These are editorial quality products that deliver soft, silky, manageable, nourished, healthy hair. In my humble opinion, they are worth every penny!

In Cyprus, you will find Bumble and Bumble exclusively in Debenhams stores.
