How to Prevent Makeup Melting in the Summer

The temperatures across Europe are through the roof and this has been the most asked question over the last 2 to 3 weeks; how to prevent makeup from melting in the summer.

If you can get away with wearing no makeup then do it or another tip would be to try an SPF with some colour. Personally, I love Ultrasun. On the days when I don’t want to wear makeup, I will use either the Ultrasun Tinted Anti-Pigmentation Face SPF50+ or the Ultrasun Face Fluid SPF50+ Tinted. In the winter, I wear the colour Ivory, and once I have a base colour, I use Honey.

For those of you that like to wear makeup and/or feel more comfortable with makeup on, then keep on reading.

Here are my top tips for summer-proofing your makeup looks.

1. Use/switch to lighter texture moisturisers. Two recommendations from me are:

Summer Fridays Cloud Dew Oil Free Gel Cream Moisturiser

Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturiser

2. Use a makeup primer.

Dior Beauty Backstage Face & Body Primer 001 Universal

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r True Matte Primer

3. Use less product & try long-wear formulations.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation

4. Layer powder products over cream to lock them in all day.
