I love Illamasqua. I probably do not promote it enough, I try, but there are always new brands and products to test. I also want to be as fair as possible and not show the same brands, over, and over, again. Today, I would like to focus on some of the newer products from Illamasqua, their summer collection, and how to get that sun-kissed glow.

Illamasqua Sun-Kissed Glow Summer Collection

Illamasqua has released for this summer:

  • Three new velvet-finish Colour Correcting Bronzers that give a natural-looking, sun-kissed warmth while helping balance the skin tone.
  • Five dual-toned Hydra Lip Tints cleverly mix two contrasting, bold colours seamlessly to create a subtle, hydrating, and ultra-wearable balm.

Illamasqua Colour Correcting Bronzers

These expertly formulated colour-correcting pigments, these new bronzers from Illamasqua balance out the skin tone, and create a very natural-looking, sun-kissed glow.

Each bronzer features a warm and cool-toned bronzer shade divided by a colour-correcting stripe to balance skin tone. These can be mixed and matched to create healthier-looking, bronzed skin.

Three shades

  • Light – Glint
  • Medium – Flare
  • Dark – Fire

Currently, I own only Flare, the medium shade but my makeup kit has a place for all three shades. I can easily use Fire to warm up my complexion or body in the summer months, and use Glint as a cooler shade for the winter.

How to Use

For a quick and easy bronzer application, simply dust a big brush through all three shades and apply to the areas of the face that tend to get colour in the sun, such as the hairline, the bridge of the nose, the cheeks, and the chin/jawline. The green pigment down the centre neutralises any redness in the skin – whether from rosacea, blemishes, or any kind of sensitivity. Each of the three shades can be used individually, with a small cheek brush or a fluffy eyeshadow brush.

Try using the light bronzer shade, in the crease of the eye socket for a soft warm contour. For a multi-dimensional bronzed look, go in first with the lighter shade on the areas where you tend to tan and then use the darker shade to build up some soft glow and definition under the cheeks.

Illamasqua Hydra Lip Tints

The Illamasqua Lip Tints contain Apricot and Peach Hazel Oils to leave behind a nourishing splash of colour, and lips hydrated for up to 10 hours. These products, again Inspired by colour mixology techniques used by professional makeup artists worldwide, each Hydra Lip Tint contains two vivid shades which seamlessly blend together when swiped over lips to create a mouth-watering, ultra-wearable hue.

Illamasqua Hydra Lip Tints Secrets in Beauty

Five shades

  • Hydra Lip Tint Banoffee (Caramel Nude)
  • Hydra Lip Tint Picnic Plum (Cool Plum)
  • Hydra Lip Tint Mocktail (Rose Pink)
  • Hydra Lip Tint Grapevine (True Grape)
  • Hydra Lip Tint Swimsuit (Rouge Red)

I own three of the five and they feel so good on the lips. To intensify the colour, pair it with a lip liner all over the lips and apply the Hydra Lip Tint of your choice over the top.

How to Use

For an easy to wear, hydrated, and glossy lip look, apply the Hydra Lip Tint straight from the bullet.

For a more intense and tailored lip colour, use a small lip brush to load up on the colours you would like to mix and blend them together on the back of the hand. Add and mix the colours until you get the colour you want and then apply to lips using the brush. Use any product left on the back of your hand and apply it to the cheeks for a seamless look.
